David Templeton presents $10k to Packs for Cold Backs
MLT Foundation Donates funding for a Tiny House in Springfield, Missouri
MLT Foundation Kicks off! Welcome!
Thank you all for coming to our MLT Cares website in honor of our son, brother and friend – Michael Lester Templeton.
We were privileged to enjoy Mike’s personality through his entertaining free spirit, and openness to all that he encountered in life. There are so many stories we can tell about where his heart was, but we sum them up with one line.
Take care of your fellow human.
Mike moved on from this world after a short lived 52 years. It was a sad day for all of us. His friends, co-workers and family came together and told stories of his connections, how full of life he was, his openness and wanting to ensure the well-being of everyone.
In his final days, it was clear what he wanted his legacy to be. He wanted to help the homeless and those less fortunate. Our family has spent the last two years establishing the MLT Foundation (www.mlt-cares.com) to further his cause, and we hope you can help keep his focus going by supporting the homeless.
Mike’s legacy of MLT Cares is helping to find solutions nationally for the country’s homeless problems. This foundation is 100% volunteer through our family, and all funds go directly to those non-profit organizations that fund the homeless through their volunteer work.
We promise to research every non-profit and have strong criteria established before we fund them. We’ve found a few to date that really show the passion and effort necessary to help in making a difference. Check out a few of those on our what we do page. You’ll see we have already contributed to some great causes in multiple cities that are helping in different ways. We saw the passion of Packs for Cold Backs in their efforts in Phoenix, Seattle and Sacramento. We saw the need to help contribute to those displaced from the Camp Fire in California. We’ve supported a great cause in Utah (Lantern House) to help kids impacted by tough situations. We have also supported an organization that sponsors individuals in Missouri (The Gathering Tree) that need a break to get things a little better for themselves.
Come join us on this journey! All donations are IRS Tax Deductible and will be spent on the homeless issues with almost every penny going to a cause, not a salary.
Alternatively, if you know of a great Non-Profit helping the homeless drop us a note and we will check them out for a possible Grant Opportunity from the MLT Foundation.
Thank you,
The Templeton Family

A Portrait of the Homeless
A 2017 Point in Time count across America identified that 553,472 individuals in America were homeless.
Almost 185,000 of those identified as homeless are families (adults and children)
Over 40,000 of those homeless individuals are Veterans.
And another 40,000 are unaccompanied children and young adults.
It kind of makes you tear up that in this land of opportunity, and wealth that over half of a million individuals have no home.
They live in shelters, abandoned buildings, in back alleys and on the streets.
Most of them go hungry.
And are cold.
Our country’s prosperity is leaving many working families behind.
Many came to their situation from a single financial disaster.
Medical problems or mental health issues
PTSD
Many just need a helping hand.
A chance to start again.
It could be any one of us.
Make a difference.
Thank you.
